3DTascalX & 3DTascalX/Light
Activation
This message appears when proxy settings or security software are the cause. The workarounds for each are:
1. Proxy → Enter the settings on the left side of the C’set ActivationManager screen and reactivate the license.
2. Security software → Add an exclusion or exception to the following exe file and reactivate the license.
3DTascalX
“3DX**.exe” and
“CsetActivationManager.exe” in the installation folder (default C:\Program Files\3DX**).
Network License Server
“CsetActivationManager.exe” in the installation folder (default C:\Program Files\NetLicense).
3DTascalX/Light
“3DXL.exe” and “CsetActivationManager.exe” in the installation folder (default C:\Program Files\3DXL**).
“*” represents a number.
If steps 1 and 2 do not resolve the issue, perform proxy authentication. If you use proxy authentication on an online PC, you can complete the process on a single PC.
(To cancel proxy authentication, Cancel proxy authentication)
The license has already been activated on another PC. Deactivate the license and then try activating the license again on the PC you want to activate.
Deactivate your license, then download and activate your license on another PC.
Please contact us as you will need to reissue your license. (There may be a fee.)
Data
Parasolid can store data as a solid, so it has higher reading accuracy and is significantly faster than IGES.
If you have both IGES and Parasolid data output with a hierarchical structure from CAD, you can import it with the hierarchical structure.
The output is with a hierarchical structure. However, in the case of VRML or STL, the software on the other end may not support the hierarchical structure.
Arcs will not become polygons when output to 2D data.
It is compliant with IGES Ver5.3.
As a guideline, it is about 1/10 of IGES (*.igs) data and about 1/2 of Parasolid data (*.x_t).
Normally, if something is recognized as a solid in 3DTascalX, it will be recognized as a solid when imported into SOLIDWORKS. IGES data with holes or data that is not covered on all sides cannot be made solid in 3DTascalX.
*Please use automatic repair or create a surface using [Tools] / [Model Operations] / [Gap Fill]. (If you create a surface, please also sew it.)
If you export without solidifying the data, it will be recognized as a sheet body rather than a solid body when imported into 3D CAD. Please solidify the IGES data before exporting.
If you are unable to solidify the data, try using the [Gap Filling Function] and export the data in a solidified state.
* The [Gap Filling Function] is not effective in all cases.
Set the local coordinates you want to output as global coordinates as current. Then, when exporting, select [Current Coordinates] in the [Save As] dialog and click [Save].
Operation edition
You can view it from [Help]/[Help]. If you want to learn the basic operations, we recommend the “Tutorial” in the same location.
Also, please refer to the How-to Video.
You cannot create 2D elements such as points and lines in the drawing window, but if the sketch elements created with the “3D Sketch” function are displayed in the screen window, you can reflect the elements in the drawing window.
You can select multiple parts and group them in the Insert/Assembly menu.
To execute height color coding, double-click the part in the screen window or click the part name in the shape tree to select it before selecting the menu, and then select the menu.
Display the local coordinates toolbar in the [View]/[Toolbars]/[Local Coordinates] menu. You can switch the coordinates from the pull-down menu.
When importing IGES data, to check information such as surface data, points, and lines, select the element, right-click, and select “Properties” from the pop-up menu to view the attribute information for each element.
If you import IGES data into 3DTascalX and there are gaps between the faces and you cannot solidify them, try the [Gap Surface Paste] function. After pasting a surface into the gap between the faces, you can solidify them.
This message appears if you are using an older version. Please install the free trial version on another PC and check if the issue occurs.
In 3DTascalX, you cannot drill holes or change the diameter.
For solid models that already have holes, you can fill the holes using the [Automatic Hole Filling] or [Manual Face Deletion] functions.
■ Follow the steps below.
- Double-click the part to select it.
- Select [Edit]/[Rotation].
- An axis for the rotation direction will appear around the center of the model. (It looks like a local coordinate system.)
- Click the green part of the axis, move the mouse to the center of the coordinate system, and click the desired location.
- In the [Rotation] dialog box, set the [Rotation Angle] and click the [Apply] button.
*If the model center has local coordinates (global coordinates).
- Specify the local coordinate system for the model center.
- Double-click the part to select it.
- Select [Edit]/[Rotation].
- An axis for the rotation direction will appear around the center of the model. (Similar to local coordinates)
- In the [Rotation] dialog box, set the “X”, “Y”, and “Z” values for “Center Position” to [0].
- In the [Rotation] dialog box, set the “Rotation Angle” and click the [Apply] button.
*Select the rotation direction from the dialog box that opens.
To change the display precision, go to Tools/Options, click the Display Settings tab, and move the slider at the top of the Display Precision setting bar to the finer setting, then click the Apply button.
From [Tools]/[Part Color], check [Color by part], then drag and drop from the [Face] color window to color.
To color edges, use the [Edge] color window.
With IGES data, coloring can only be done on a face-by-face basis, so color it after solidifying it.
Click the “Offline” button in “Help”/”About.” You can use it offline for one week.
To extend or cancel the period, you will need to connect to the license server again. It will be automatically canceled after the period has expired.
Drawings
Click on the figure you want to change the scale for so that it is selected with a red frame.
Then right-click and select Properties from the pop-up menu to display the View Properties dialog. You can zoom in or out on the selected figure using Scale Value on the General tab.
You can move parts using the [Edit]/[Direct Move] – [2-Axis Align] function.
You can also use this function to disassemble parts individually. If you create a drawing in the disassembled state, you can output it as 2D drawing data.
If the model is tilted relative to the global coordinate system, create a local coordinate system using [Edit]/[Local Coordinate System]/[Set with 2 Lines] or [Numerical Settings], then select [Drawing]/[Perspective View] and set the viewpoint group to the current coordinate system.
Yes, you can. If you want to remove the association between views, click the drawing view you want to move, right-click, and select [Remove View Association]. However, once you have removed the association, you cannot re-associate it.
All elements created in the display window can be reflected in 2D. However, only dimensions directly facing each plane of the coordinate axes will be reflected in the drawing window. Also, just like with 3D models, only elements that are visible in the display window will be reflected.
Click on the drawing view you want to select so that it is highlighted in a red frame. Then right-click and select [Properties] from the pop-up menu to display the [View Properties] dialog. On the [Display] tab, you can change the line type and whether or not to show lines.
If the data you are working with is IGES data, the lines will be output overlapping, so if you convert it to a solid and then output it as 2D data, you can reduce the number of line elements.
Example: When adding dimensions to the standard/top surface (X, Y) of the viewpoint, you can reflect this in the drawing by measuring the distance dimension using the [X component] and [Y component].
Click the [Shape] tab in the [Content View], check the part name you want to make into a drawing in the details list (only the shape you want to make into a drawing will be displayed in the screen window), and create a drawing from the [Drawing] menu.Only the parts displayed in the screen window will be reflected in the drawing window.
- Select [3D Sketch]/[Section Line]/[Clipping Plane].
- Check [Create Viewpoint] in the [Section Line] dialog box, and use the sliders and other controls to create the section line.
- Select the created viewpoint (Section Layer 001) from the Viewpoint View menu and drop it into the drawing window to create it.
Environment edition
The operating environment for smooth operation varies depending on the 3D data format, size, and number of parts being loaded.
Please check the free trial version.
Change the [Global Preset] in [NVIDIA Control Panel]/[Manage 3D Settings] to “Workstation App – Dynamic Streaming” or “3D App – Game Development” and check if it works.

Other questions
A layer is a place where information such as points, lines, and dimensions is stored.
You can give each layer any name and show/hide each layer. 3D model parts are stored in the “Body” section of the shape tree in the Content View.
Solidification is the process of stitching together a collection of imported sheets (mainly IGES data) and converting them into a solid object. Solidification offers the following benefits:
- Volume can be calculated.
- Data size is reduced.
- Part-by-part coloring is possible.
- Hatching appears in cross-section views in 2D drawings.
- 2D data elements can be reduced by processing overlapping lines, etc.
In contrast to the global coordinates that are fixed by default, the coordinate system that the user can freely define is called the local coordinates. It is the same as the program origin used in machining centers, 3D measuring instruments, etc. The selected coordinates are called the current coordinates.
This issue occurs when double-byte characters (such as kanji or hiragana) are used in the user name used to log in to the OS. Please log in with an alphanumeric user name such as Administrator before installing.
